Alexander Klingspor — Mollbrinks Konst Gallery

Born in Stockholm, Sweden 1977, Alexander Klingspor has studied with various painters in Sweden and the United States. Since the age of 22, he has been making a living as a painter and has exhibited his work throughout the Unites States and across Europe.

Klingspor is interested in myths and legends, and our human ability to shape consciousness through sculptures, paintings, and architecture. Drawing on the century-old urban legend of New York sewer alligators, Klinspor’s latest sculpture, entitled NYC Legend, puts a modern spin on the process by which myth becomes art with a tribute to the greatest city in the world.

The work is currently being cast in Switzerland at Perseo Foundry and is scheduled to be exhibited in Manhattan’s Union Square from October 2023 until June 2024 via the NYC Art In The Parks Program.
