Friedman Benda announces Design in Dialogue, a new video interview series hosted by design critic Glenn Adamson
DESIGN IN DIALOGUE – Episode 1. Misha Kahn
We are thrilled to launch today Design in Dialogue, Friedman Benda’s new video interview series hosted by design critic Glenn Adamson.
Occurring every Wednesday @ 11am EST, Design in Dialogue will feature interviews with the gallery’s roster of designers. Each episode will be followed by a public Q&A, allowing viewers to submit questions via Zoom’s chat section.
For Design in Dialogue’s first episode, Glenn Adamson will lead a 45-minute discussion and Q&A with designer Misha Kahn – one of the most provocative and exciting voices in contemporary design today.
Known for his playful, irreverent designs, immersive environments, and experimental techniques and materials, exploring a work by Kahn is a bit like stepping into another world. Kahn is highly experimental in both his technique and his materials of choice, using everything from concrete and aluminum to paint, resin, hand-blown glass and even grass. Nothing is off-limits in Kahn’s work; his projects range from climbing walls for cats and an underwater playground – to funky-functional housewares and accessories. His most recent solo exhibition Soft Bodies, Hard Spaces currently on view at Friedman Benda marks a particularly exciting moment in his career.
