Galerie Lelong & Co., New York, is pleased to announce an upcoming dialogue between the artist Kate Shepherd and Mary Sabbatino for “Galerie Lelong Conversations,” a series of talks that present an inside look into how an exhibition is developed.
The second in this series, Shepherd and Sabbatino will discuss selected works from the past two decades as well as her current show entitled Surveillance. The exhibition opened on March 12 and will close on July 30, 2020. Visitors are welcome to schedule appointments on our website to view the exhibition in the gallery from Tuesday through Thursday. Since its opening, the presentation has also been updated with two new paintings.
Known for her richly colored paintings built with layers of monochromatic enamel, Shepherd here charts new territory in her decades-long exploration of perspectival space. Chief among Shepherd’s concerns in these works is their relationship to their environs; the various reflective surfaces establish a spatial discourse across the panel, the viewer, and the gallery space.
