Miami, FL (January 27, 2025) – Open House Miami (OHMIA), the second annual festival celebrating Miami’s architecture, culture, and urban design, announces its most significant strategic partnerships for the 2025 edition, set to take place February 28 – March 2, 2025. These collaborations underline the festival’s mission to foster transparency, inclusivity, and community engagement in urban spaces.

A highlight of this year’s partnerships is the enhanced collaboration with the Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL). Together, MDPL and OHMIA will unlock Miami Beach’s historic places and beautiful spaces through exclusive, one-of-a-kind experiences that showcase the vibrant culture, architecture, and history of this iconic destination. In addition to the MDPL, Open House Miami 2025 is partnering with Dade Heritage Trust.

Uncover Hidden Gems in Miami Beach
With MDPL as a key partner, festival attendees can step into the stories of Miami Beach through special tours and experiences. Highlights include:

– The Art Deco Museum Curators Tour: Featuring MDPL’s newest exhibition, Henry Hohauser: Designing Paradise.

– The Billionaire Beach Tour: A hard-hat experience offering behind-the-scenes access to one of Miami Beach’s most glamorous historic neighborhoods. This tour spotlights transformational projects totaling over $2.5 billion across six historic blocks in the heart of South Beach.

Miami Beach’s Open House Hub
As part of this collaboration, the Art Deco Welcome Center at 10th Street and Ocean Drive will serve as the official Open House Miami information hub. Visitors can begin their journey here, accessing interactive maps, curated experiences, and insider tips for exploring Miami Beach.

This partnership also connects Open House Miami to MDPL’s marquee event, Art Deco Weekend, taking place January 18–20, 2025. Attendees can get a sneak peek of the Open House Miami experience during this beloved celebration of Miami Beach’s iconic Art Deco architecture.

“MDPL and Open House Miami are bringing the stories of Greater Miami to life like never before,” said Maribel Ramirez, Executive Director of Miami Center for Architecture & Design. “Through exclusive access to historic sites, engaging tours, and immersive events, this partnership showcases the beauty and history of our city while inviting locals and visitors to discover its enduring legacy.”

Spearheaded by The Miami Center for Architecture and Design (MCAD) in collaboration with the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority (MBVCA), the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), the Miami Downtown Development Authority (DDA), Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs (including the Tourist Development Council and the Community Grant), and the City of Coral Gables, and a network of dedicated local partners, OHMIA 2025 invites the public to explore Miami-Dade County’s unique stories, spaces and design.

Open House Miami is taking place February 28 – March 2, 2025, across Greater Miami, with over 100 curated experiences spanning the area.

Open House Miami was established in 2024, making Miami the fourth U.S. city, alongside New York, San Diego, and Chicago, to join the global Open House Worldwide network. This movement celebrates architecture, design, and urbanism by creating opportunities for citizens to engage with and appreciate their city’s built environment in a way that’s transparent, inclusive, and community-focused.

Ahead of the festival, attendees can explore Miami Beach’s architecture and historic sites using the EXP Miami Beach Tours App, available on Apple and Google platforms.
