Crozier to Acquire Artex Fine Arts Service

Acquisition will add five facilities and more than 160,000 square feet, strengthening Crozier Fine Arts offerings across all major art markets in US

NEW YORK – March 22, 2018– Crozier Fine Arts, an Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM) company and the nation’s leading fine art storage and logistics provider, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Artex Fine Arts Services. The acquisition includes Artex’s portfolio of clients and network of facilities in Washington, DC; New York; Boston; Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles – totaling 160,000 feet of storage space. Additionally, Artex President and CEO John K. Jacobs will join Crozier in a senior leadership role going forward. The move underscores Crozier’s status as the North America’s most comprehensive art storage and logistics company, now comprising of fourteen facilities offering over 860,000 feet of storage nationwide and five crate production facilities to Crozier’s existing operational footprint.

Founded in 1990 by John K. Jacobs and Todd Herman, Artex offers fine art transportation, storage, crating/packing, and collection management to museum, gallery, private and commercial clients. The acquisition marries Crozier’s reputation for client service and art handling excellence with Artex’s unique capabilities, including a consulting division that manages large scale transportation, conservation specialists, and an optimized logistics routing process. These enhancements significantly expand Crozier’s service offerings, including its specialized Museum & Institutional offering, which is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of this highly visible and influential segment of the fine art market.

The acquisition comes on the heels of Crozier’s appointment of Tom Hale, former global commercial director of Lisson Gallery and vice president of sales and development at UOVO, as Senior Vice President and General Manager. “I am excited to join Crozier at this pivotal moment in the company’s growth and history,” said Hale. “Uniting Crozier’s network of facilities with those of Artex, and leveraging Artex’s strong brand and deep expertise in working with museum and institutional clients positions Crozier for significant growth and momentum in both North America and on a global scale. The opportunity to play a leading role in that growth is one that I am thrilled to take on.”

“While Crozier’s reputation for art handling and private collection management is renowned, we are delighted to extend our ability to comprehensively address the nuanced needs of all our clients,” said Crozier President Simon Hornby. “To now manage all domestic transportation requirements in-house, while also extending our reach into institutions and museums, provides a unique offering across all client categories. For example, in the case of loans and touring exhibitions, we will now be able to manage all services elements within a single coast-to-coast unified network utilizing our 14 specialized art storage locations and over 450 highly trained staff – creating a unique environment of safety and security for these shipments.”
