Visual Arts and Architecture & Design Public Relations Student Internships (rolling application)

Public Relations, Communications, and Marketing firm specializing in design, architecture, visual arts and culture is seeking two bright, organized, dedicated, and charismatic candidates for an internship lasting at least four (4) months.

Duties include, but are not limited to: maintaining press clippings and listings, researching new media contacts and publications, assisting with the production of media kits, helping to coordinate social media efforts, organizing our media storage and archives, as well as drafting outreach reports, advertising plans, and clipping books. Assisting with and attending special events and openings will require occasional after-hours commitment.

Applicants should possess strong writing and organizational skills, excellent phone manner, an eye for aesthetics, and an ability to work well in a small office setting. Some knowledge or background in art history, and/or architecture and design is essential. Must be literate in Macintosh computers and Microsoft Office. Experience in FileMaker, Photoshop, and InDesign is strongly preferred. Desired applicants must be willing to commit at least four (4) full months to working at the company.

Prospective interns should be available for at least three full days per week (10am to 5pm). This unpaid internship offers a $80 per day stipend for food and transportation costs. Spring Small Business Internship

(New York City, NY)

Blue Medium is a Public Relations firm specializing in design, architecture, visual arts and culture. We are seeking a bright, organized, dedicated, and charismatic candidate for a small business internship this spring. Only applicants that submit a cover letter and resume will be considered for this internship.

This is a unique opportunity for an individual to work closely with Blue Medium’s executive team in order to learn from an experienced entrepreneur and an accomplished team of senior staff in the Public Relations business. The internship program will provide first hand experience and training in running a small business for one enthusiastic student or recent graduate interested in learning about agency practices.

The internship will, ideally, begin in February for two days a week and run through mid December. As an intern at Blue Medium you will be immersed in the day to day operations of the business including the administrative capacity of the business as well as the strategies and approaches for future growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the accounting in order to learn about financial planning and cash flow.
  • Liaising with team member to arrange travel arrangements for team members
  • Reviewing company calendars under Director of Operations and President
  • Management and maintenance of presidents business development database and calendar
  • Management of President’s contacts in company database
  • Contact research for the executive team
  • General operations involvement

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in Business or equivalent degree recently completed or in progress
  • Interest in learning operations and management skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and G-Suite
