Miami, FL (February 26, 2024) – The inaugural Open House Miami festival kicks off this Friday, unlocking more than 50 unique sites across Miami and Miami Beach. For two days, historic landmarks, architectural icons and culturally significant sites will allow residents and visitors to peek behind closed doors — many of which are rarely open to the public—free of charge.

Offering exclusive insider previews, tours, expert lectures, performances and curated experiences, the festival is organized by The Miami Center for Architecture and Design (MCAD) in collaboration with the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority (MBVCA),  the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), and the Miami DDA,  along with numerous local partners.

From the captivating Story of Miami City Ballet, led by Executive Director Juan Escalante and offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the MCB facilities, to the insightful Miami-Dade Transit Behind the Scenes tour at the Government Center Control Room, attendees will gain unprecedented access to the inner workings of the city’s landmarks.  Explore the architectural marvel of PAMM, heralded as a “jewel” by Pritzker Prize-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron, or embark on a comprehensive journey through the iconic PortMiami, observing its architecture and operations up close.

Additional newly confirmed experiences include:
