Registration Now Open for Exclusive Events at Inaugural Open House Miami 2024, March 1 & 2
The free festival allows the public to explore more than 50 culturally, historically and architecturally significant sites around the city

Miami, FL (February 9, 2024) – Discover the hidden gems of Miami’s rich cultural and architectural landscape at the inaugural Open House Miami (OHMIA), where registration for a series of exclusive events, happening on March 1-2, 2024, is now open. During the two festival days, numerous buildings and sites will open their doors to the public, free of charge, offering access to over 50 individual experiences in 15 distinct neighborhoods.
The Open House Miami 2024 program promises an enriching blend of workshops, behind-the-scenes building tours, expert lectures, performances, and curated experiences. Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to meet some of Miami and Miami Beach’s world-renowned architects. With new experiences being added daily, some of the festival highlights include:
South Beach Skateboarding Tour:
Glide through South Beach’s history and architecture on a unique skateboarding tour led by @carothetourguide. This energetic morning offers adventure, history, and stunning beach views.
The Hard Rock Stadium Tour:
Experience an exclusive tour of Hard Rock Stadium with Open House Miami! This behind-the-scenes tour offers an inside look at the stadium’s extensive facilities, showcasing its role as a premier venue for sports and entertainment in Miami.
Designing Miami: Kobi Karp’s Vision from Art Deco to Modernity:
Enjoy an exclusive tour led by esteemed architect Kobi Karp, showcasing three iconic Miami landmarks: the Caribbean Hotel, Cadillac Hotel, and Surf Club.
Guided Tour of the Miami Design District:
Discover the world-class collection of architecture, public art, and murals in the Miami Design District, featuring works by renowned artists and architects.
Brickell Avenue Walking Tour:
Discover the transformation of Brickell Avenue from wilderness to a bustling financial district. Learn about its past, present, and future, highlighting key buildings and spaces.
Exploring the Frost Science Museum:
Delve into the intricate engineering and technology behind Frost Science. Discover how design, aesthetics, and sustainability contribute to an exceptional experience for guests and the resident animals.
The Underline Tour:
Embark on a dynamic journey through The Underline’s Brickell Backyard. This tour, led by the design team, highlights urban design, ecology, safety, public art, and community programming, accompanied by the rhythms of Miamibloco.
Miami City Ballet Reimagined:
Join G. Alvarez Studio for an exclusive sneak peek into the Miami City Ballet’s renovation process. Attendees will get the behind-the-scenes look at the planned enhancements and witness talented dancers rehearsing for an upcoming program.
Marangoni in Miami: Italy’s Placemaking in the City:
Tour Istituto Marangoni Miami; the pioneer School of Fashion and Design bringing the magic of Italy to Miami.
William Lane Architecture Studio’s Lifeguard Towers:
Visit the reimagined Miami Beach lifeguard towers by architect William Lane. These structures now feature a splash of color, abstractly anthropomorphic shapes, and a sprinkle of fun. The Bass Museum of Art Hosts Visionary Constructs: Young Architects on Tomorrow’s Cities Panel Discussion:
Join a panel discussion at the Bass Museum of Art, hosted by Jose Gelabert-Navia, AIA LEED AP, featuring young, up-and-coming architects who are shaping the future of cities and the built environment. This engaging dialogue will explore strategies and challenges facing today’s architects, and dive into the inspirations driving their innovative work.
In anticipation of Open House Miami in 2024, travelers and locals can begin to discover signature architecture and hidden gems on Miami Beach through the newly launched EXP Miami Beach Tours App, now available for download on both Apple and Google platforms.
Open House Miami is organized by the Miami Center for Architecture and Design (MCAD) in collaboration with the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority (MBVCA) the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), and the Miami DDA, along with numerous local partners.
