Madison, WI – November 5, 2025 – WholeTrees Structures, a certified B Corp and leading national expert in engineering unmilled timber for commercial construction, has successfully closed on $3M of catalytic capital, the funds from which provide a foundation to expand its regenerative business model while pioneering a new approach to partnering with forest-based economies.
WholeTrees creates & supplies profitable new markets for Solid Structural Timber (SST). By identifying and validating this opportunity, the company has positioned itself within a growing market for SST. The company succeeds in large niche markets by demonstrating to owners and architects nationwide the ease of specification, affordability, and strength of solid timber — qualities that ultimately draw them to its natural beauty in the built environment.
The $3M catalytic capital, and any additional oversubscription in the next six months, will help WholeTrees maintain momentum by funding three crucial areas of development. The financial support will enable the expansion of the Ashland, Maine, fabrication facility and the company’s new subsidiary, WholeTrees – Maine. Additionally, the capital will facilitate a broad sales strategy expansion into large, established North American markets. Lastly, the capital enables investment in its software platform and automated operations, which will facilitate scale for decentralized timber sourcing, architect engagement through 3D modeling tools, and systematized operations.
“This mission-related investment is transformative for us,” said Amelia Baxter, Co-Founder & CEO of WholeTrees. “It not only provides crucial funding but also validates the importance of sustainable forestry practices in addressing climate challenges. With this support, we can scale our operations and continue to innovate in the timber construction sector, contributing to healthier forests, rural job creation, and a greener future.”

WholeTrees’ journey to secure this investment reflects the untapped potential within the forest products industry. WholeTrees is energized to continue meeting its vision to create prosperity between Forests and Communities. The B Corp’s growth plan will continue to enable:
- 23 jobs in rural Vernon County, WI; projected to grow to 30 by 2028
- 15 new jobs in Aroostook County, ME, since 2024; growing to >35 by 2028
- Retention of 80% of all COGS spending within the region where product is fabricated
- Timber purchases at prices over 2x higher than other available markets
As WholeTrees Structures continues to grow, it will look to expand its impact and showcase the potential of timber as a leading material in sustainable construction, raising further equity by attracting investors who share a commitment to triple-bottom-line returns — economic, social, and environmental.
